Vastu has only one school, Fengshui has notably two major schools – the Form School which focuses on the physical aspect of the landscape, and the Compass School, which focuses on the astrological and cosmological orientation of the site. The newer schools in Feng Shui are the Eastern Black Hat Fengshui and Western Black Hat Fengshui. Vastu follows the Hindu astrological system, Fengshui follows the Chinese calendar. Both have their ardent followers. Feng Shui believes in placing objects in different directions to improve certain aspects of life, so it also became popular as a corrective system. No ancient Vastu text mentions any such practice. There are several other major differences which cannot be listed in this limited space.
